Our Team

Apoorva Jinka-Patel, OD, FAAO graduated from George Mason University with a Bachelor of Science in Neuroscience before earning her Doctor of Optometry degree from the State University of New York College of Optometry. Dr. Jinka completed her residency in Primary Eye Care and Ocular Disease at the VA NY Harbor Health Care System in Brooklyn, NY. She has also served as an Adjunct Clinical Instructor for SUNY College of Optometry, precepting optometry students in both private practice and hospital settings. Dr. Jinka has presented research posters at national academy meetings, participated in Grand Rounds lectures, and delivered a COPE-approved lecture to fellow eye care professionals. As a Fellow of the American Academy of Optometry, she holds an esteemed distinction for maintaining the highest standards of professional competence and for her dedication to lifelong learning. 

In 2024, Dr. Jinka proudly became the owner of Lawrenceville Eye Care, a practice with over 100 years of service to the community. She is honored to continue its rich legacy of providing quality eye care while bringing modern innovations and personalized care to her patients. Additionally, she is the founder of Dry Eye Room, a specialty clinic focused on advanced treatments for ocular surface disease.

Beyond her clinical work, Dr. Jinka is dedicated to giving back to her community. She volunteers her time as a board member for the Lawrence Township Community Foundation, contributing to initiatives that improve the lives of local residents. She has participated in medical mission trips both nationally and internationally, including in Manhattan, NY, Chiapas, Mexico, and Penonomé, Panama, and she looks forward to continuing these efforts in the future.

Outside of her practice, Dr. Jinka enjoys photography, gardening, and spending quality time with her husband and two children. She is fluent in English and Telugu, and is conversant in Spanish. She looks forward to providing quality, thorough, and personalized care to the patients of Lawrenceville Eye Care. 

Lauren Wu, OD graduated with a degree in Psychobiology/Neuroscience from Drew University.  She completed her professional training with high honors at the Pennsylvania College of Optometry in 2009. During her training, Dr. Wu was recognized with the Vistakon Award of Excellence in Contact Lens Patient Care.

Dr. Wu is an experienced optometrist with over 15 years of practice. She has developed strong interests in myopia management, dry eye disease and glaucoma.  With a personal and family history of high myopia and having undergone refractive surgery herself in 2008, she values the importance of optimal vision from an early age. Dr. Wu is committed to providing personalized care for each patient.

In her free time, Dr. Wu enjoys cooking and spending time with her husband and two children. She is fluent in English and conversant in Cantonese.
 

Dr. Arth Patel is a board-certified family medicine physician who serves as the Medical Director of the Dry Eye Room. In this role, Dr. Patel oversees the clinical protocols, equipment, and medications used, ensuring the highest standards of care are maintained. His expertise ensures that the Dry Eye Room operates with cutting-edge technology and treatments, delivering effective solutions for dry eye conditions.

Dr. Patel brings his passion for high-quality holistic care to the practice, ensuring that each aspect of patient management is approached with a comprehensive and patient-centered mindset. He earned his medical degree from CUNY Medical School/New York Medical College and completed his residency in family medicine at the University of Connecticut. With a focus on improving the quality of care through evidence-based practices, Dr. Patel is dedicated to maintaining the Dry Eye Room at the forefront of innovation in dry eye management.
